Admissions Requirements

Enrollment and success at Gloucester Biotechnology does not require formal training in the sciences. We will provide the basic science and math skills necessary to work with confidence in a technical lab setting.

In order to apply, students must have a high school diploma or passing scores on all sections of the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) or General Education Development (GED) exam.

We consider the following factors in the admissions process:

    1. Aptitude and inclination for hands-on work
    2. Enthusiasm for science
    3. Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks on schedule
    4. Willingness to learn new things
    5. Comfort working independently and as part of a team

Application Process

Tuition fees are $9,000 in addition to $400 in lab fees. Generous, need-based financial aid is available and 85% of our students receive significant support. In addition, a laptop computer is supplied to all enrolling students and gifted to graduates upon successful completion of the program.

A complete application consists of the following:

    1. General Application Form
    2. Personal reflection describing why the applicant is a good candidate for the program (300 – 500 words)
    3. Two letters of recommendation from teachers, guidance counselors, and/or employers
    4. Official transcripts from all high schools and colleges attended
    5. Financial aid application (FAST Application)
