James Westra

For 14 years Jim Westra served as the General Counsel and a Managing Partner of Advent International, an international private equity firm with offices in 17 countries.  Prior to that, he was a managing partner of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, an international law firm, where he was a corporate lawyer.

Jim has served on the boards of a number of non-profit entities.  He currently serves as Chair of the  Board of Elevate New England which works with urban youth in Lowell and Lawrence.  He also serves as a mentor for a young incarcerated man who is pursuing a degree from Tufts in the College Behind Bars program.  He has previously served on the boards of several other non-profit entities, including the United Way and the Boston Symphony.

Jim graduated from Harvard College and Boston University Law School. He lives in Manchester, Massachusetts and Spring Island, South Carolina.
