Salvatore Russello, Ph.D.

Sal was appointed Chief Executive Officer and elected Board Member of New England Biolabs in 2022, with more than 20 years of experience in the life science industry. He has a passion for technology and the role it plays in transforming our health, our understanding of biology, and ultimately the world we live in.

Sal joined New England Biolabs in 2007 as Associate Director of Business Development where he sought new technologies to augment NEB’s innovation and product development activities. In 2017, he became the Director of OEM & Customized Solutions where he helped to build partnerships with companies at the forefront of next-generation sequencing, diagnostics, molecular oncology, and genomic medicine. Prior to joining NEB, he served as the Director of Reagent Marketing at Caliper Life Sciences, a company acquired by Perkin Elmer, and as Business Development Manager at Cell Signaling Technology. Sal has a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Genetics from Temple University.
