Zaie Nursey

Zaie comes to the Academy with a background in microbial ecology and biogeochemistry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Colby College in 2022. Her research experience includes work in developing eDNA assays and understanding carbon sequestration and ecological benefits in regenerative agricultural systems, with prior roles at The Jackson Laboratory and Hudson Carbon. As an undergraduate, Zaie was a teaching assistant for several courses, including Introduction to Ecology. When she is not in the lab, she enjoys playing basketball and learning pottery.
