Your gift to the GMGI Annual Fund will assist us in:

  • Developing a Science Learning Environment, providing workforce development programs for young adults and STEM education programs for middle and high school students
  • Developing the foundation of a new science community on Cape Ann, centered around our world-class research institute, which will become an integral part of the region’s unique cultural fabric and maritime economy
  • Conduct pioneering marine genomics research projects with applications in biotechnology, fisheries management and marine conservation

Gifts of Cash by Check or Credit Card

GMGI accepts charitable contributions in the form of cash, typically by check or credit card, and are deductible for federal income tax purposes. You can make a cash gift in the following ways:

Gifts of Stock

You can donate appreciated securities and avoid capital gains tax. You receive credit for your donation and an immediate income tax reduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them.

Gifts of Personal Property

When you donate your valuable tangible personal property, such as a boat, vehicle, or real estate, you can receive a charitable deduction based on a fair appraisal and reduce or eliminate capital gains tax.
