Accelerating biodiversity insights through eDNA
To meet growing demand for eDNA in fisheries assessments and ocean resilience research, Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute has launched the eDNA Service. As practicing eDNA scientists with over a decade of genomic research, we deliver robust, efficient, and scientifically rigorous solutions for collecting, processing, analyzing, and applying eDNA data. Our goal is to connect scientists, conservationists, and policymakers with the insights they need to monitor ecosystems at scale.
More Than a Sequencing Service
Every environmental monitoring question is different. GMGI’s eDNA Service brings together molecular biology, sequencing, bioinformatics, environmental science, and method development to design an approach around the problem a client is trying to solve.
Whether the goal is identifying a source of contamination, establishing a biodiversity baseline, monitoring environmental impacts, detecting species, validating a new monitoring approach, or troubleshooting a difficult sample, GMGI scientists work with clients from project design through data delivery.
Yuan Liu, Ph.D., leads the eDNA Service at GMGI. Dr. Liu is a marine molecular ecologist passionate about using DNA to unlock the hidden stories of ocean life. Through the GMGI eDNA Service, Dr. Liu and her team make these cutting-edge technologies accessible and impactful for researchers, industry, conservation groups, and government agencies. Through the Service’s consultation, training, and applied research, Dr. Liu’s team works to advance ocean stewardship and support data-driven decisions in a rapidly changing world. Learn more ›
GMGI’s eDNA Service works with government agencies, municipalities, nonprofit organizations, researchers, and industry partners to solve real-world environmental monitoring challenges. Our scientists combine molecular tools including qPCR, ddPCR, next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and customized method development to generate actionable environmental data.
