Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute’s EWD Conference is an annual event that brings together a passionate network of thought leaders whose work focuses on expanding access to STEM careers for all. The Conference presents training providers, employers, and the broader STEM community with an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to students who are on alternative education paths towards STEM careers and to challenge biases and create pathways to inclusivity.
Graduates of alternative programs encounter workplace obstacles due to perceptions around vocational training. This year, our conference aims to delve deeper into these issues:
- Do non-traditional learners receive equal support and advancement in biotech organizations?
- Are they compensated and respected equally when compared with their college-educated peers?
- What can we do to create onramps to success that allow a new talent pipeline to thrive in STEM fields?
We’ll explore these and other questions alongside life science and biotech leaders, education and training providers, elected officials, and graduates, to foster dialogue, share solutions, and drive systemic change.
