A Surge of Discovery! GMGI is Growing!
What happens when you invest in marine genomics, ocean technology, and innovation in Gloucester’s historic, working harbor?
A surge of discovery! GMGI is growing!
We are expanding our research footprint at 417 Main Street in Gloucester with an additional 4,000 square feet of laboratory, innovation, and collaboration space on the second floor.
Supported through Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s Ocean Innovation Network (OIN) and Testing & Demonstration Asset (TDA) programs, the expansion will:
• Grow our eDNA Service Center and high-throughput genomics capabilities
• Establish a dedicated Harmful Algal Bloom research laboratory
• Create a Makers Space for ocean and climate technology innovation
• Build a convening space to connect scientists, entrepreneurs, educators, and industry partners
Together, these investments will strengthen Massachusetts’ blue economy while accelerating marine genomics research, ocean technology development, and commercialization.
Construction begins soon!
