Annual GMGI Science Forum

The GMGI Science Forum, the organization’s annual conference, has become a showcase for world-class scientists presenting on a range of topics in marine research, as well as an opportunity to encourage interdisciplinary discussions and new collaborations. What started as a small gathering of marine scientists in a restaurant in 2015 now draws 12 distinguished, headline speakers and over 100 attendees to Gloucester Harbor each Fall.

With speakers traveling from all over the world, the day is divided into a morning and afternoon session, with an hour-long catered lunch to encourage conversation, collaboration and networking. The event is open to scientists, science educators, graduate students and post-docs, as well as citizen scientists who are interested in the represented topics.

GMGI is dedicated to bringing science to Cape Ann in a meaningful way, and looks forward to continuing to herald Cape Ann as a viable and attractive locale for great scientific research and new discoveries.
