Heather Counter

After a successful career in the corporate sector, Heather has found renewed purpose in the nonprofit world. She comes to GMGI from the Vermont Arts Council, where she held the position of Finance Director prior to relocating to Gloucester.

Heather is a licensed CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from UMass Amherst. She is passionate about empowering organizations like GMGI through clear, actionable financial reporting that supports sound decision-making and responsible fund management.

Heather is excited to explore Cape Ann’s natural beauty and its thriving arts community. Outside the office, she enjoys pottery, vegetable gardening, hiking, biking, and kayaking—activities that reflect her love of creativity and the outdoors.
